Are you seeking happiness from the right space?

Most people look for happiness outside of themselves. Another pair of shoes, another Versace hand  bag, another car, another house, a new partner etc.

Happiness comes from within our being and radiates out to the cosmos. We are all innately divine beings with all the resources within us that we ever need to achieve happiness. The secret is knowing how to tap into your inner wisdom, connecting with your essence, the essence of who you truly are. When you can access within the core of your divine essence, you will know that you don't need anything outside of yourself to experience happiness.

By simply being present and in the state of being, it allows us to experience peace and tranquility that most are looking for. It gives us the choice to then experience whatever else we want to experience from a place of awareness. We no longer allow outside force to drive us in what we do in our lives. We begin to experience the freedom of choice as what we ultimately want to have.  If we are being driven by the masses and what society expects of us, we no longer experience freedom of choice. It becomes an expectation that we feel obligated to perform. When we do things out of expectations and  obligations  to others, then we are usually not in alignment with what we really want and it’s never for our highest good.

When that happens, we usually feel resentment within, even though a lot of times we don't show it outwardly because that is not an acceptable behaviour in society. Most people expect you to do as you are told, especially if you’re a woman.  For centuries, humans have been conditioned and programmed to be like sheep and to follow without questioning. To do as you are told because everyone thinks they know better than you, especially when those in authority.

What most people do not realise is that each and every human being has all the resources within them to achieve what it is that they desire. All they have to do is make the choice to move towards their goals in order to achieve them.  What they need is to take action to do the inner work, to move through any blocks that are stopping them from achieving what they want. Those goals could be finding peace and harmony or having a loving relationship with their partner, or doing the work that they love and are passionate about etc.

When you do the inner work to release any baggage and blockages you are holding within you, nothing will be able to stop you from achieving whatever sort of life you want to experience. When you let go of all the baggage within you, you have just created a whole lot of space within yourself to allow new experiences to come into your life.

Imagine your life is a room filled with all the emotional baggage you have stored within. How could you find space to invite anything new into your life? There is  just no space for you to store anymore stuff. So by clearing out all the baggages that you have been storing from the past, you begin to create space for new experiences that you want to bring into your life, whether it be experiencing more joy, peace and tranquility or inviting new loving people into your life, or taking up new activities that brings you joy eg. Dancing, singing or painting,  or learning new skills to do the job you love.

Happiness is a state of mind many people strive to achieve in their lives. That feeling of being loved, a feeling of contentment and fulfilment. While everyone’s definition of happiness is unique, there are some universal principles that can help achieve this state of mind.

Here, I’m going to share some effective ways to seek fulfilment and a sense of happiness.

  1. Cultivating Gratitude is one of the most effective ways to seek happiness.  Gratitude is about appreciating and acknowledging the good things in your life. When you focus on the positive aspects of your life, you start to be more aware of the abundance around you. It helps you to shift your focus from what you lack to what you have, which can  improve your overall sense of well-being.

  2. Engaging in Meaningful Activities can help you find a sense of purpose as well as being very fulfilling . Those activities can vary from person to person. They can include physical activities like dancing, hiking, surfing, volunteering for a good cause or pursuing a career that aligns with your values. When you engage in activities that are meaningful to you, you are most likely going to experience a sense of satisfaction and purpose.

  3. Practicing Mindfulness is learning to be present in the moment and fully engaged in what you are doing. When you are mindful , you are more aware of your thoughts and feelings. That in itself can help you to manage your thoughts and emotions more effectively. Meditation, breathing exercises and yoga practice can help reduce stress and improve your overall sense of well-being.

  4. Building Loving and Positive Relationships is another important aspect of attaining happiness. We humans are social creatures and we thrive on harmonious and positive relationships. Our relationship with our family, friends and colleagues can help us feel more connected and supported. Family and social support are crucial for maintaining good mental health and well-being. It can help you to cope with challenges more effectively which could lead to a feeling of peace and balance again.

  5. Taking care of our mental, emotional and physical health helps you to have a balanced and happier life.

In conclusion, seeking happiness is a journey that requires attention and intention. By cultivating gratitude, engaging in meaningful activities, practicing mindfulness, and building loving relationships, you can increase your chance of experiencing a greater sense of happiness and fulfilment in life.

Remember, happiness is a state of mind and it is dependent on the choices you make in your daily life.
